You guessed it - the worlds biggest sausage in Mundare AB is another must visit. Standing at an impressive 42’ high, this badboy weighs 12,000lbs and was put up for all to see in 2001 by the Stawnichy family. The family immigrated to Canada from the Ukraine and founded a meat processing facility in 1959 that is still operational and still family owned! When visiting the giant sausage, make sure to pop by their shop down the street for an awesome homemade pep-n-ched and bring home some cured meats for an awesome charcuterie.

Mundare is about 90km east of Edmonton and located at the junction of Highways 855 and 15. There are picnic tables at the sausage for you to enjoy your goodies from @mundaresausage and you can also hang out with the blue buffalo, painted by a local artist. We took the scenic route and headed through Scotford, over to Lamont, through Chipman and down to Mundare.

From Mundare, head south to Riley AB and check out the rad boneyard near the landfill. The landowners collect bones and other obscure paraphernalia to put on display to protest against the landfill expansion. When visiting, please be respectful and leave everything in place and stay behind the fence unless you have permission from the landowners (like we did).
